The company's products are organized into three segments: Home & Family; Office Products; and Tools, Hardware & Commercial Products. Newell Rubbermaid's portfolio of brands includes Rubbermaid, Sharpie, Graco, Calphalon, Irwin, Lenox, Levolor, Paper Mate, Dymo, Waterman, Parker, Goody, Technical Concepts, and Aprica.

Newell Rubbermaid's origins date back to 1903, when businessman Edgar A. Newell of Ogdensburg, NY, purchased a failing curtain rod manufacturer and renamed it the Newell Manufacturing Company. The company grew and diversified through a series of acquisitions over the decades since, and would take its current name after the acquisition of Rubbermaid and Graco in 1999. Newell Rubbermaid would not call Atlanta home until 2003.

The company's primary metro Atlanta operations include its 350,000 square foot, 14-story Glenlake Office Park headquarters, and a distribution facility on South Fulton Parkway.
