The company's offerings include: ATMs and financial terminals; self-service kiosks; Point of Sale (POS) terminals, bar-code scanners, software and services; check and document imaging solutions; a service portfolio that includes product maintenance and support, site assessment and preparation, staging, installation and implementation, systems management, and complete managed services; and a complete line of printer consumables for various print technologies.
The National Cash Register Company, maker of the first mechanical cash registers, was founded by John H. Patterson in Dayton, OH, in 1884. The young company expanded rapidly and was multi-national by the late 1880's. When the company went public in the mid-1920's, it was the largest public offering in U.S. history. The company was acquired by AT&T in 1991, only to be spun-off again five years later. NCR established its current headquarters in Duluth in 2009.
NCR's metro Atlanta operations include the company's Duluth headquarters campus, their Global Customer Service center in Peachtree City, and other facilities in Atlanta and Suwanee.
