Delta Air Lines is the world's largest airline, providing scheduled air transportation for passengers and cargo throughout the United States and around the world. Delta began as an aerial crop dusting company in Macon in 1924, later moved to Monroe, La., and relocated their headquarters to Atlanta in 1941. The company's current global route network is centered around the hub system they operate at airports in Atlanta, Cincinnati, Detroit, Memphis, Minneapolis/St. Paul, New York-JFK, Salt Lake City, Amsterdam and Tokyo-Narita.
Delta's largest aircraft maintenance base, various computer, cargo, ticket counter, flight kitchen and training facilities and most of its principal offices are located at or near Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport.
