Coca-Cola Enterprises is the world's largest marketer, distributor, and producer of bottled and canned liquid nonalcoholic refreshment. CCE sells approximately 80 percent of The Coca-Cola Company's North American volume, and is the sole licensed bottler for products of The Coca-Cola Company in Belgium, continental France, Great Britain, Luxembourg, the Netherlands and Monaco.

The roots of Coca-Cola Enterprises date back to 1899, when to Chattanooga businessmen secured exclusive rights to bottle and sell Coca-Cola for most of the United States, and susequently began granting bottling franchise rights to other entrepreneurs. The modern, publicly-traded CCE, however, would not take shape until 1986, when The Coca-Cola Company merged some of its company-owned operations with two large ownership groups that were for sale.
